Our site engineering services allow us to see the project from the initial stage of planning application by carrying out the topographic land survey to the beginning of the construction and getting the project off the ground! This may involve setting out of piles, foundations, drainage, access roads or, further down the line, your steel frame, brickwork or concrete slabs. It is essential that you make sure you have competent, reliable and professional site engineering surveyor on-site to support on your project from day one.

Castle Surveys use the latest HP Siteprint robotic layout solutions, Leica robotic total stations and Leica GPS equipment to carry out our construction setting out and site engineering services. This allows us to give the client the confidence that the setting out is carried out to the highest standard and our internal quality assurance and on site  ensures it is right first time potentially, saving both time and money.

Frequently Asked Questions about Site Engineering & Setting Out

What is site engineering and setting out?
Ever watched a new building spring up and wondered how everything ends up in exactly the right place? Site engineering and setting out is the process of transferring design plans onto the ground so construction teams know precisely where to build. Using equipment such as total stations, tapes and traditional marking methods, engineers ensure foundations, walls and structures are positioned accurately from day one.
What’s site engineering and setting out used for?
Site engineering and setting out is required at every stage of construction, from housing developments and commercial buildings to bridges and small structures. Accurate setting out prevents errors, reduces delays and avoids costly rework, giving confidence that foundations, alignments and levels are correct throughout the project.
How much does site engineering and setting out cost?
Professional site engineering services typically start from around £495+VAT per day, including equipment. Costs may increase for complex sites or repeat visits, but pricing is always clearly explained in advance. Providing site plans allows for a tailored quotation to suit your project requirements.
